This was sort of my idea for us to talk about the FUN stuff in our lives other than shooting.

Whatever you do (that is legal laughsmilesurprisedwinkbig-grin), put it up here, it's a pretty much Social Forum.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Steve, for writing up the intro and the idea for this forum!  I have added a new topic to get it kicked off and looking forward to seeing what other interest members have!

Whatever you do (that is legal), put it up here, it’s a pretty much Social Forum.

If you have something illegal to share please do that in the private forums!  No, No, just kidding!

Please start a new topic and tell us about it. It clearly involves cars and driving fast, we like both of those, and we don't know much about Autocross.

My fun stuff has changed dramatically as the years have gone by. The days of boxing, rock climbing, muscle car cruising and having a different girlfriend every weekend have gone. Now its camping, hiking, home and yard improvements, helping in the community and holding my beautiful wife in my arms. Pretty boring huh!

Used to autocross my Alfa.

Now I just do track-day weekends at Blackhawk Farms and Autobahn Country Club with the Audi Club (in one of my Audi's; the Alfa is long gone).

I started doing Krav Maga to supplement my firearm skills and I hope to start doing a little Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a little more Silat when I'm off the injured list.

A friend and I have started Tacoquest2016, which is a search for the best tacos in Austin, TX since Texas Monthly didn't cover a single place here when they did their taco issue a couple months back.

Since I'm originally from New Orleans, eating and cooking is a pass time and I often schedule rangetime so that we can get to great food either before or after or both. It gives us all a great time to BS about how we did that day.

I'm including a pic of some beef short ribs, pork spare ribs and pork baby back ribs that I did a while back.IMG_20150904_124913.jpgImage Enlarger

It's just a basic Garlic Pepper rub by Barron's. Nothing too extreme, I like to let the meat take center stage, but the sugar in it does make an amazing crust on the beef short ribs. A friend of mine calls it 'sugarcookies'. The beef short ribs run for about 12 hours at 180°-190°, they are ready when a corner / chunk pulls free with almost no resistance at all. The pork ribs take about 2 hours at 280°ish until the rack relaxes and the small bone on the end will spin free with almost no resistance.

I like to cook and love to feed people, feel free to ask if you have any questions. My dad told me when I was little 'Boy, politics and religion drive people apart but food brings them back together.'

While we're talking food... This is a bone in pork chop that I rubbed with the same garlic pepper and stuffed with a whole chipotle. Make the hole just big enough to shove the pepper in and big enough on the inside so that it has room to flatten out. I cut it off of the bone and sliced it for effect 😉

Hello everyone!  I’ve been out of commission on this site for a few months due to starting consulting this past May.  Been working 10.5 - 12.5 hour days.  Currently on a much needed vacay in Mexico.  Found a place on the resort where they can paint a custom hat so guess what I thought of?!!!  Turned out great!

A few of you sent me a PM asking if I was okay.  Thx for the checkup!  I’ll try to check in periodically.  Also, I can still create Pac labels if anyone needs some.  Been a long time so I’ll have to refresh my memory.  I’ve saved all my past work so it shouldn’t be too hard.

. My Grandfather, an aniline dye expert and chemical, mechanical and civil engineer retired from a large corporation at the manditory age of 65. He tried consulting but the travel to all over the world was not to his liking. At 66 years old he became borough engineer of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ until the age of 85.

Kurt, those 101/2 to 121/2 hour days require a great deal of dedication. I was a chef/restaurantuer and worked 85 hours a week for 16 years. With one week a year off. Good luck,

I hear that! 40 years as a restaurant manager long hours and always working weekends and holidays. I started at Wendys 6 days a week 12 hour days starting salary $13K no overtime that was in 1979 Got better after a few years and got out of fast food into nice restaurants and bars but it settled in to 50hrs 5 days a week and stay standard for the next 25 years. Always had something to eat! I never got sick of prime  rib. I at that almost every night for 20 years! Anyway glad your back! I'm in need of some more first issue labels. I have enough boxes to make about 45 reproductions but just have not not them up for sale. I have all the stickers and foam to make them!IMG_8974.JPGImage Enlarger
