OfflineCurrently my two DWs, the top one is a 715 that was made into a quasi pistol pack (tools, 8″ and 2″ barrels) I believe from the boxes that it came as a 6″. Just picked it up today off layaway.
The “back in black” 15 DW is out of my complete pistol pack.
The 715 is a little used with a good solid dragline and some hammer wear but well cared for (oops I dropped the 8″ barrel on concrete today by accident but was able to steel wool polish out most of the nip at the end) but will make a good trail carry wesson.
Anyone know why the serial number begins with “SD”?

OfflineA lot of Monson serials for 7 series guns began with Sx where x is a letter which depends on caliber. I actually thought all of the stainless guns were serialed this way. Examples from my collection:
722 = SA…
715 = SD…
741 = SC…
744 = SB…
740 = SE…
Exceptions to the rule from my collection:
722M = 22MS…
745 = 445S…
and my other 740 has only an E as a prefix.
All of these are Monson guns.

I have to get my camera out one of these days.

...and that 4th power pic is a cool idea.
