Figuring out what year your gun was made is difficult. From what I understand the records were either destroyed or seized by the atf when they went out of business around 1995.

144xxx was 1977-78 (1977 is the best bet)
The Pachmayr Presentation grip (the black rubber one) was not original to the Pack.
Somewhere in there should be the second piece of the barrel tool, a hex head "spud" that engages the barrel nut. Be careful using that wrench/spud when removing the barrel nut, and consider getting an aftermarket one piece barrel wrench (EWK Arms is the best choice).

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
