I shoot IHMSA "standing", so anything over the 6 inch barrel gets to be too unwieldy, and quite tiring. If I ever decide to shoot freestyle I'll consider a longer barrel and be grateful for the longer sight radius.

Love to see a photo of your 3 1/2 inch Registered Magnum when she arrives. Now that is a rare bird indeed!
