I have a '77 Monson 15V & I'm wondering which S&W frame will work from a holster perspective. Is most like an N frame, or...? (if there is a thread somewhere that discusses this, please point the way)

The DW "small frame" revolvers are most similar in overall size to the S&W Model 586 and 686. These are Smith's "L" frame revolvers, and holsters made for these would be a near perfect fit for the frame of your DW, but since they have a full under lug barrel like a DWVH would have, you might get a little movement inside the holster in the barrel area. Depending on how well the gun nests in the holster this may not matter much. The Colt Trooper MK lll would be the closest match in overall size and profile, but these have been out of production for quite some time, although holsters may still be made for it.
