I bought a 15-2 that has a like new VH8" blued barrel on it. I don't need the barrel. I can't find a flaw on it. It's original Monson marked. Here's a calender photo I submitted a couple years ago of the barrel on the gun. I want to sell the barrel to help finance another revolver purchase. What's a fair price to ask?

It depends on your market, but I searched on truegunvalue.com using this phrase: "DAN WESSON 15 2VH 8" and 9 entries came up, but a few of them were pistol packs. The nicest ones with a single 8" VH barrel went for about $800. This may or may not be representative of the actual market since it's such a small sample size.
I also did a search with the following phrase: "DAN WESSON 15-2VH" and that still looks like a pretty fair assessment of the going market price.
I bought an excellent condition, 15-2VH with 2, 4, & 6" barrel assemblies from the original owner, a couple of summers ago off of Texas Gun Trader for $1,100, so prices seem to be all over the place. I think your best bet to get top dollar is probably on gunbroker.
At the end of the day, it seems like the best way to sell Dan Wesson revolvers is to sell the barrel assemblies individually.

Sorry I should've proof read my post title before posting. I meant I want to sell the barrel only. I bought the gun for the frame and have no use for an 8"VH barrel assembly. I have several shorter barrels for it.

The Nicest of the nice....(minty as one member says) BAs "can" fetch "up to" $50-80 per inch. 8"X$80=$640
A new one from Dan Wesson-CZ-USA is still being sold for $374.00
https://shop.cz-usa.com/b-a-blued-357-8-inch.html
As a novice collector, and a shooter, I use the New BA Price as a baseline and start @ $100 over. But, only if I "need" a Monson BA.
Then there's the fees when you're selling online which is +/- 15%
Best bet is to list it here in the DWF Classified for a determined price. And like Stan said: Sell it to a member.
Last 8" I bought was only $300
