Picked up 375 super mag today and noticed that it came with factory gap gauge .002 I thought they where all .006 from factory.Also factory box with correct ser number said 8"VH slotted but gun has VH non slotted factory shroud on it.

Well, for sure the model 40 (.357SM) has a .002 gauge from the factory. So far, I haven't owned a .375 that is NIB, so I can't give an affirmative yea/nay as to whether yours is original. Other members probably could.
However, setting your .375 gap at .002 isn't a bad thing.
I set mine at that gap all the time.

I never shot my 375 so I never checked what the gauge was... But I agree with CF the 357SM's where suppose to be set to .002 to prevent flame cutting.

I only have one Super Mag with the factory gap gage, my 7445 and its .002. I set all my other SMs to .002.
Jody, you need to shoot that 375, its a real blast (pardon the pun), I really like mine and its a lot of fun just working up your own ammo. Quite the conversation piece at the range as well.

When I discovered that my SuperMags all came with .002 gap gauges, I changed to setting all of my Dan's at .002 and I have never had a problem with any of them.

This is interesting because all paperwork I have ever seen on the 375 stated to set it at .006. If .002 works however, why not..
