Hi,
I came across this history if Karl Lewis, the inventor designer of the Dan Wesson interchangeable pistol.
Its written by his son and is full of photos of prototypes, history, patents, and documentation.
It's fascinating.
He made the first prototype in 1952 at his kitchen table with a hand drill, a hacksaw, and a couple of hand files.
Enjoy.
First prototype of interchangeable barrel pistol made in Miami at kitchen table.
