Long time ago I got a DW 'Patriot' that was in the CBOB frame shape.
No checkering on the front strap or back.
Any idea way? You can see it below. it has an external extractor to and the SN is in the lower 4 digit.

My PTE-B Patriot has no checkering on the front strap either. It does have texture on the back though and my gun is even earlier than yours. All the Patriots had external extractors.

The "no checkering" on either side may have been a custom request by the original owner...just spit-balling, here.

External extractor on a 1911?
Oh the Shame of it All! How can it be a real 1911 with an external extractor?
Nice looking gun, and one of the dumbest (gun) things I ever did was not buy a CBOB that was right in front of me for several weeks at the LGS for good $$$ then and great $$$ now.
