Don't look like a lot of original DW with that one? Any idea on the slide and barrel mfg?

After a tear down, barrel is original, I have no clue what slide this is, or why it was changed. The internals are all stock. I sat it aside by side to my Valor and the only real difference is the slide, bushing, grips and sights. No clue why anyone would do this, but man, she's so smooth, even more than the valor so who knows

Oh, they must have had the barrel hood fluted then. If it operates smoothly and shoots nice, that is really what matters.

Well, I put 100 rounds through it and it shot beautifully, but isn't locking the slide back when empty.

Try different magazines first, it could just be the follower in that one mag. Sometimes Wilsons are known for this.

A really sweet shooting 1911.

My one and only DW, a .45 CCO but going to sell it to help fiance a Kodiak. Then going after a .45 ACP Bruin, which I did not know they made until recently.

Wow, 3 years since any pics added here. So okay, wanted a Dan Wesson 1911 for a long time. But a LOT of expenses in the last couple months, and a huge one on the horizon. So decided NO GUNS FOR AWHILE. And that of course caused a DEAL I CAN'T SAY "NO" TO, to come along. I watched it for several days, sure somebody would snatch it up. But not the case. I decided if I didn't grab this, I'd just pay more later. So nabbed this Classic Commander. It has some minor scuffs ( especially that idiot scratch ). But it's light enough, I'm pretty sure I can buff it out.

Nice catch. Use Scotchbrite pads to refinished the stainless. I forget what color to use, but someone will chime in on the correct one.

White or Gray?   It's in a thread here somewhere.

My only 1911 but it's the best of the best (in my humble opinion) the 2018 50th anniversary with the best bluing job I have ever seen! If you do not have one that are rare! The last one on GB went for $2800 so if you can get one for less you're doing well! What a beauty!  IMG_8109.JPGImage Enlarger

Whatever it is, the best looking blue job I have ever seen! If this is a different process why do they not use this process to blue all guns? Is it more expensive to coat a gun in this way?
