Well today was a GREAT day. Ran up to my hunting lease that I am on with my brother-in-law. As we discussed coming up last weekend my wife asked if she and the kiddos (6yo son & 2yo daughter) could go. I said of course. She suggested we shoot some while we are there. I of course agreed that it was a fantastic idea. I had purchased her a new 9mm semi auto and planned to shoot that as well as my DW and brought my son's little .22 rifle.

So this morning we get ready. I get the truck loaded and she gets a cooler with drinks and snacks for everyone. We load up and head out. Get some things done on the land and now it's time to shoot. We put some rounds through her new 9mm and are both impressed. Then I get my son's .22 ready and he shoots a few. I must say he put my wife and I to shame. I couldn't be more proud. He listens to instructions, waits until he's ready to fire and doesn't rush anything. He's finished and gets back in the truck with baby sis to watch videos. Now I get to shoot my DW laugh

My wife is with me and says she wants to shoot too. But of course! It's .357, but I brought .38 as well as .357. Figured I'd shoot with .38 to make sure all goes well and get a feel for the gun. Loaded her up, readied, aimed, FIRE! Almost dead center! Readied again......almost the same spot. This gun is amazing. I loaded another 6 and handed my wife the gun. She looks at me and say "you know I'm taking this if I like it better than my Walther" surprised She readies, fires and she's within my same grouping. She turns looks me dead in the eyes and says "this is mine" SERIOUSLY!!! We shoot a few more and then move to the .357 ammo. I'm thinking she won't like it. We patch the target and get ready. Ready myself and same results. I hand it to her, she loads six and gets ready.....FIRE.....after all six she looks at me, smiles and says "Really, this is mine. Find yourself a new gun"

I can't tell you how happy I am with this DW. It's my first one and will not be my last. Obviously because it looks like I have to find myself another. Hahaha I guess the good thing is I get another DW! WOOHOO! Very accurate, functions great, couldn't ask for better.

I apologize for the long post with more useless info about all that happened then you guys probably wanted to know. It was just a great day with the family that I had to share.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Perfect set up; now go buy another Dan and say -"honey, I bought this for you".  That way, she can't say you have "too many guns".  Not that I've ever heard those words and pondered what they meant.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Great story! Thanks for posting. I think many of us have had similar experiences! Your wife is a smart woman.

I wish my wife said "find yourself a new gun".  😉  I generally have to go by the 'wait and then pull something out of the safe months later' game.  Enjoy the DW and also shopping for another!

Well that is what we all want to hear! My wife likes guns so gifts are easy these days! Whether Dan's or a new Ruger or what ever, if it goes bang she is thrilled!  Laid claim to a 714 2.5"fixed Wesson!  It just doesn't get any better & by the way great tail!

Agreed! I love the fact my wife loves to shoot. The best thing is she's good at it so that makes her happy and want to do it more. My wife is extremely hard to buy for, but the more we have been shooting and the more interested she gets into it the easier it will be. She sat down with me the night before after the kiddos went to bed and helped me clean the guns.

Zedbra: I've had to do the "it's been in the safe for months" thing before. HAHAHA

Hey Kaseyart:

My wife's favorite gun is her 715 shooting full load .357 magnums.  Believe it or not her second favorite revolver is the 744 shooting .44 specials.

She likes to shoot too, which makes life a lot easier.

Now, go find yourself a new gun.

My wife took my Beretta 92, then a High Standard mk ii, and then after I bought her a Ruger LCR, a Beretta P22 snow camo,  a Glock 42 and a Sig 238 she said she likes my Sig 938 more than the 238. My Manurhin MR 74 is her bedside gun. I really love her so😆
