Hi - I'm new to the forum, and own a model 738 +p Lil Dan  that I have had for about 15 years or so. I know this is pretty rare, and I'm wondering what the value might be. I have the box, and most of the accessories.

KRichard,

The FWC ? initials in the etched circle are not typical. I would think that his would  generally detract from the value unless your name is Frank William Cooper ?  Lately original ones , Gunsamerica and GB,  in decent shape with a box and manual and tool go for about 900 up. They were sold with  a safety lock, you have the key, and sometimes more paperwork on dealer locations.  Complete and NIB obviously  a lot more.

Umm...that's Wesson Firearms Company....(think: f W c)

Recently, (auction prices) sold-$605, a second failed to sell at $699.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

These models are pretty much collector pieces only, as there are a lot of better choices for a carry gun these days.

Did you pick one up?

There a couple on GB now starting at about $800, too rich for me.  I’d like to get one some day but not at that price.

No, I did not, but this one sold for $999.00.  I find that a little hard to believe, but there are not a lot of them out there.

OK   I own this nice 738 +p.   I do not carry it.  Although I have a nice holster, a speed loader, and a couple of boxes of .38 special.   If  - and I mean  - if -  I were inclined to part with it to a serious buyer/collector, whIMG_1574.JPGImage Enlarger

You should start a new thread in the 'Classifieds' section on the "For Sale or Trade" board.

AND you would be in compliance with the "Purpose and Terms" posted at the top of that Forum

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I haven't seen too many (with that engraving), anyone know the details? Looks like a nice collector!

I'm fairly certain that the first batch of Lil' Dans all had that engraving. Jody's does too, along with a few others I've seen over the years. Mine is numbered roughly 600 after Kingrichard's & does not have that neat looking engraving.

Annnd I would show you a pic of my gun, but this STUPID Kindle I'm typing on tonight will NOT play!broken-computer Grrr...

Nice looking piece of DW history!   We were all hoping you had the extra BA's for it!   4",6"and such..   Mentioned though not sure ever produced.  I have one with the WFC in the circle!

I agree, a very nice looking piece of DW history! The interchangeable barrels for .357 service model don't work on those? Seems like the sight configuration would be a good match.

No, the Lil' Dan aka the 738+p is unique in the DW family. No other barrel configurations will interchange.

On a side note, NOW my Kindle will allow me to post mine.madbroken-computer
