Was wondering what to put for a price for this. I do not have the original box. It is unfired. 20160319_164535_resized.jpgImage Enlarger

Thanks for your help.

I think that gun originally came in a wood presentation/display case. As is it could go for $1000, it might need a while to find the right buyer.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Like all commemorative firearms, the "value" falls off significantly once it is not NIB (mint) with all accoutrements.  I have to agree with Steve, it could take a long time to find a buyer at 1K but I bet it would move at $700.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

The problem with commemorative firearms is that they appeal to a smaller group of potential buyers than standard versions.  If they are fired or lack the display cases, documentation or other 'goodies' that originally came with the gun, the value tales off very quickly.  Some people claim that they are actually worth less than their standard version cousin.  I know this to be the case with Duck Unlimited shotguns.  Taking a WAG on value I'd say between 500-700 dollars.  An auction site would give you best exposure and fastest turn over.

I sold mine a short while back for $1,250.  I purchased it from the original owner and it had the wood/glass display case, all the original documentation including the certificate to the original owner, correspondences from the American Historical Foundation, and original American Rifleman magazine ads when they were released.  The guns are nicely done and not overbearing with "glitter" as many commemoratives are.  The grips are nice as well and one thing you have going with yours is that the grips have not been engraved with the original owner's initials.  If it is 100% with no marks, nicks, dings, scratches or turn ring, I wouldn't take anything less than $900.  A turn ring may detract from that slightly.

Not sure if it's the lighting or not, but there appears to be a scrape in between the flutes, where the turn ring would be .. hard to tell.
