Hi everyone, quick question. Would one of these be a viable way of fitting a newer barrel to a Porkchop? Does anyone have experience with one?

https://www.ewkarms.com/zen8/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=223

Thanks, Dave

Great question, Dave. The answer is, yes, if they are still available from EWK.

Excellent! I'd been considering getting the adapter and another barrel.....I think this convinced me to.

Since I have a W12 pistol pac, I decided to bastardize (um customize) the orphan W12 in the safe with the EWK adapter. Only question left is red dot or scope. I'm thinking scope would be more period correct. Any thoughts?

P.S I noticed the rail wasn't level, so I fixed it but didn't feel like taking new pics.

Actually, your not customizing of bastardizing.Since the adapter slides off with no lasting effect you haven't done anything permanent to the frame or porkchop shroud. You are just borrowing a dash 2 shroud. I would scope the gun instead of red dot. No batteries needed. I recommend an 8"  barrel if you scope it. I like the front of the scope to be behind the end of the muzzle instead of reaching beyond the muzzle if you used a 6 inch or 4 inch BA. I think it would keep the glass in the front of a scope cleaner .

All very valid points. Only had a 6 inch BA available. Been looking around and there's a few 8 inchers floating around. Gotta wait till current bills clear.

I have a whole drawer full of scoped BAs I acquired buying mixed assembligies. I don't hunt but it is good to have in case of apocalypse. To hunt feral cattle and alligators. I have a pond with thousands of tilapia and a bunch of prickly pear cactus just for catastrophic events . I love prickly pear cactus. Nopals the Mexicans call it .

This would normally be posted in the Range Day section, but the DW Model W12 in the photo is utilizing the EWK adapter, so it’s showing how a revolver set up this way actually works. If I hadn’t pulled that last shot I could’ve had a cloverleaf group! The Colt Official Police from 1939 was being test fired for accuracy following my recrowning the muzzle, and the one DW target is there for comparison.IMG_2109.jpegImage Enlarger

Got my 8 inch barrel on the way. May pimp it out with an EWK muzzle brake. I never do anything half way.

While I tend to be more of a revolver purist, I’m still looking forward to seeing your totally tricked out Model 15, and the range report to go with it!

My grandma used to make prickly pear jelly for us. It was great! We have a few on are property it's funny sometimes the fruit will turn on the cactus sometimes and ferments and the animals and birds will eat it and get drunk! I have seen the squirrels eat it and act crazy. sometimes they get a hold of the fruit off the Saguaro cactus also will get them drunk! Most people do not know Saquaros bear fruit!

I generally feel the same way, blue and walnut. That being said, if I have 2 or more of the same, occasionally, I will modify 1. For example, I have 2 Mini 14's, 1 blue and 1 stainless. The blue is factory, but I made the stainless look like the Ruger AC 556, (A Team). Sometimes I have too much time on my hands which allows my mind to think of this random stuff.

I've got a stainless 10/22 that I tricked out with a Kidd 2-stage trigger group, Tactical Inc. all aluminum 25-rd. magazine and a Silencerco can.

Sweet shooter ....

Forgot the 10/22's. 1 of each. Stainless has AR style furniture and a red dot. Recently saw integrated barrel and silencer. Maybe after the current projects are done.

I like 3 of what I love. Then my wife can have one and I have 2 left. But really, her guns are my guns. Except for Dan Wessons. I have so many I can't count them . I get a different number every time I try .

BTW, I have prickly pears without the prickles except for what are called Glochids. They are the prickles on the fruit that are too tiny to see . I love the pads . The pads taste like a cross between okra and green beans. I am sure some folk have made liquor of the fruit.

I don't hunt. I don't like to kill things unless I eat them . But a raccoon was in my driveway staggering around the other day. I thought rabies or distemper. I did shoot it and disposed of it without touching it . Then someone mentioned that it was probably drunk from eating fermented Sable Palm berries. Mulberries will get birds drunk too.

Any suggestions for a scope. All I know is it should be rated for heavy. All the scopes I see seem to long for an 8-inch barrel.
