OfflineI never thought I would find anything besides the 357s I have at this point. I am just not a hard core enough collector to get into the less common (and more expensive) calibers due to cost. I'd like a .44 and maybe that will happen.
A little while back a .22 showed up in Cabela's pre-owned for $499. You can believe I broke speed records checking out. So bgc and tax I am still under $560.
I am less knowledgeable on the less common calibers. I would love some feedback and details you might have. Is the vented heavy barrel common for the 22? I think the 22 only came in a target sights setup?

Thanks

OfflineThat's the single action ram correct? I have had a chance to buy one several times but the single action only kept me from buying one. I may still but would like a blue one if they made them. I think $1000 I'd fair unless it came with the wood box. I saw one a while back on a site on Proxibid it was beautiful in a wood case I thought it was the way they came new but not sure. I know they were for a ram silhouette shooting but what kind of target would a 22LR knock down? It had to be small! I'm just not sold on a Dan Wesson 22LR seems way overbuilt for a 22LR. I'm glad I got the 22 magnum.![]()

OfflineCongratulations! After years of wanting one I stumbled across a VH6 had a gun show for a fair price. Turned out it had a few problems but I've enjoyed working on it and learning about it. One thing I have learned is the torque on the barrel retention nut can change the way it shoots. If you enjoy yours as much as I have been enjoying mine you are going to be one happy camper!

The do have 10" Ram 22LRs in Blue.
And, the woodbox in you saw was a woodgrain vinyl wrapped case with plaque. The gun inside is Special Ed. IHMSA 1 of 100 All 4 animals on the barrel. I have a picture somewhere on the PC.
Chad, yes, the degree of torquing the barrel nut changes the accuracy. You can use a torque wrench with the socket cut to fit the slots of a barrel nut and adjust the wrench to the proper torque and get it exactly right every time.
Stan, the single action only guns don't have the strut and strut plunger on the hammer. Just a sear. Swap out the SA hammer for a regular hammer and you have DA /SA. They made blue and stainless, V and VH . I prefer the V only. The Palmer blue Silhouettes are gorgeous.
