Good Afternoon Guys,
I'm trying to help out someone with a recommendation for a leather holster for a 738 so if anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it.

Tough one, I'd suggest starting with a holster for the S&W Model 36, the Chiefs Special.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Holy crap, I can't believe I actually found THIS THREAD again.
And in under 20 minutes too, yay me!!
This is the best looking Lil' Dan holster I've seen yet. He sez it was made for a Colt Detective Special.

Absolute best thing to do is see if you can't find a local custom holster maker who will use your Lil' Dan as the mold to make the holster. You want to find a local guy because shipping handguns across state lines to holster makers is expensive and a PITA (and most of them won't do it).

I did this with my CZ75B SA .40 (since .40 CZ75s are different from 9mm and lots of holster makers make leather for 9s but not 40s). Ended up with a real nice holster that fits my gun like a glove.

That's not a bad idea, Zundfolge. There are a couple local guys who advertise their services periodically. One of them seems to do some pretty nice work, so I may just give him a try.
