I've thought about this too.
Actually mentioned it to Bob Serva when he was President. He showed little interest.
You would probably have to use a 22LR cylinder & bore it out for the HMR.
I would be interested in a 17HMR barrel threaded to fit a 22 frame.

Yep, that's me. 
I can make whatever barrel you want...for .17 HMR, probabley would be best to not go from scratch and find blanks, as I'd say we'd only be talking about a handful of barrels.
I'm not that familar with the .17 HMR to know if a .22 cylinder can be reamed out to for it, but if it can, no problem there.
