I have searched high and low and cannot find an answer to my question. Why do some Dan Wesson barrels have 'Dan Wesson' on them, and some do not? Do the ones without 'Dan Wesson' imprinted on them, not manufactured by Dan Wesson? Or is that just how some come?

The two line roll mark was manufactured in Monson and the one line roll mark was made in Palmer .. both by Dan Wesson.

Note that there are 2 other types: Shrouds produced in the Norwich plant used a single line that was laser etched. Shrouds produced by EWK used a single line that is rolled and similar to Palmer, but used a bit larger type face. EWK offered shrouds with no rollmark, but I don't know if any were sold and in circulation. Perhaps some of our members can chime in on this.
