Does any one know the weight of a 15-2vh6 with the 2 1/2" barrel? Any one ever use it for CCW? Mine had Packmar grips, and is fairly narrow. Also, am wondering if I could shoot full house 357 mag's (rarely, and have it loaded with 357 mag. for CCW) without it killing my hands?

Good morning I do not have a Dan down here in Peru but regularly carry my S&W model 13 (3 " 357) . I personally CC with a 162 grain wc (Ideal358432) cast with soft lead powered by 6 grains Unique. Weight... well after a couple minutes I forget it is there. Generally I have the revolver on my body for 2-3 hours at a time. CC I figure is for CLOSE encounters. I do not want overpenetration but enough thump to discourage further action. I also carry a 5 shot 2" 38 special. a 150 gr swc with 5 grains Unique powers that.

My 357 had a 2.5 when I bought it and was used as a BUG in an ankle holster by the previous owner.
I personally feel that much more than berrel length… the thickness of a gun has a lot more to do with how comfortable a gun is to conceal. AND due to the very nature of a revolver, they will always be significantly thicker than an auto (especailly a 1911).
I carry, and I own a dan wesson revolver… but I don't carry my DW.
Like I said, it's nothing against the DW… It's the basic physics of the job at hand don't lend themselves (IMHO) to using a revolver for that purpose.
--> That doesn't answer your question though, so I didn't reply at first. But since you were wondering if anybody was paying attention around here, I figured I'd mention it.

I think you could conceal carry a 15 in a shoulder holster pretty easy but I was going to CC a Dan I would choose this one:
This is a model 738P of Palmer manufacture and this is the only one I have ever seen. The fit and finish is not up to Norwich or Monson manufacture but if I'm not mistaken was only available from the Palmer era.

Thanks for the posts! The 15-2-2&1/2" does seem a bit hard (and heavy) for concealed carry. My logic was that if you ever had to use it in a bad situation, the heft of the gun would make a second shot easer as opposed to the flip and hard kick from a light weight revolver.
Still thinking about getting a small 9mm for cc, but my worry would be having it jam at the wrong time. With a revolver, it's 6 for sure. Also, i'm moving to Coos Bay, Or. from So. Ca. with little crime, so it will (the 15-2) be mostly in the glove box, and used for targeting.

My 15-2-vh2.5 is 35oz empty, with the wood grips. I pocket carry a M640. The m15 DW has the same frame size as a K frame Smith. Suitable for belt or shoulder holster. You could make a round butt grip I guess.
Good luck on your move up here to Orygun. Guns in the glove box are a no-no. Must be on your person or unloaded and out of reach.

Even if you have a cc permit, you can't keep a loaded gun in the glove box in Or.? Too bad. Thanks for the info.

Since I own a S&W K frame, L frame, and N frame, I would put it in between L&N frame but maybe closer to L frame.
