A while back I got a Palmer 4\" 715 off of a classifieds site. In anticipation, I ordered a stainless 2.5\" VH ass\'y from CZ. rnWell, the dad-gum barrel would NOT screw into the frame. I could only get about 1/2 of the threads engaged, and that using a full-fisted grip! As you know, simply finger pressure is all that is(should be) needed. I cleaned both threaded surfaces well, and tried again to no avail. So, I thought perhaps the threads (of the short barrel) may be damaged. However, I grabbed one of my blued Monson frames to try. Wouldn\'t you know, that new shorty screwed right in nice and easy-peezy as it should! rnHas anyone else experienced such a thing?

Did you try the 4" stainless BA in the blue gun?

I had this issue with a new CZ/DW 2.5" 22lr stainless barrel threading into my older Monson 722. Long story short I sent the barrel and gun to DW and Bob got it to fit. I don't know what he did - rechase the threads?? Or just tried a different 2.5" barrel? I'd have to go back into my emails to see if he mentioned what the issue was.
But all of my older Monson 6" and 8" 22lr barrels threaded just fine. Seems as though there were some tolerance issues possibly?
This was in December of 2019 for what that's worth.

No, I didn't....DUH. But I will do so now tomorrow. Sending it back is a thought, thanks for the suggestion and the success Bob had with it.Â
