I need a 2 1/2 in. barrel and there is one one gunbroker for $280.00,,
its a heavy vent rib and appears new...is that a good price or should I
move on ?? Thanks a bunch !!

Move on - it's priced about $125 too high. If you don't care about the rollmark, you can buy a new one from CZ/DW for $190.

Even if you are stuck on a Monson rollmarked 2.5, you should be able to pick one up in the $150 - $175 range.

That seems a little pricy. I haven't seen the one you are referring to, but will check it out. I believe a new one from CZ is less expensive, but not an original DAN.

Okay, thanks...I found another one for $249. Is the new CZ barrel
pretty close to the old barrel ?, the sight blade is pretty funky..

CZ marks are etched and not roll marked like the older models.

I've been watching the 2.5" barrels on GunBroker for over a year now and found the guys there are bidding them up to the $180 mark regularly. It's hard to get one for less than $180 in good shape on GunBroker. Watch and see.

Even the ones Shoot sold were over $180, but his stuff is always in show condition.

I have a few barrels, but no 2.5's.... Anymore it seems like 180+ is the benchmark price for 357 BA's in good condition.
44 stuff is much higher, as well as the 41.

Pretty much its when a batch gets done. Should be coming out with more EH's soon, then the epic flood of small frame VH's I've been working on. 
Sure, you can pre pay if you don't mind waiting.
