Proud To Be An American Could anyone tell me why some stainless shrouds are slotted along the sides and others are solid just curious thanksÂ

To the best of my limited knowledge the slots were originally to reduce weight for IHMSA competition but ultimately became a option just because they look so cool!!! Cool Â If I am off on this someone will come along and straighten us out soon.

BTW Dogtrialerguy, the slots weren't only limited to the stainless guns...

LB is correct. For the gun to be legal intheÂ Production category, it had to weigh 4 pounds or less. Slots were used to reduce weight on the 40/740 first.
