Hello All,

Did the 44 magnum come with 2 barrels? One without ports and one with? Thanks in advance. Boats

Yes!!! Shoot only jacketed bullets with the ported barrel, or don't use it at all. Not one of DWs best ideas.

I'm curious as to that statement which I've seen echoed quite a bit.

I haven't yet shot cast in mine - but I will.  My question is I powdercoat my cast.

Seems that should mitigate any leading issues or is the port that badly designed?

If you use it, then disassemble and clean it afterwards.  The barrel ports allow particulates to enter the shroud, not just exit the vent holes.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

The short answer to your question is, Yes!

The compensated shroud developed later does work and does not have the problems of the "power control" barrel and shroud.

I have a 1989 model, and with the ported barrels successfully shot cast bullets with gas checks.

Ya, the outside of the barrel and inside the shroud had to be cleaned periodically, and the pistol

is stainless, but there was nothing scary about what I had to clean..

And Yes, my pistol pack came with 2 barrel lengths, ported and unported.
