Referencing a schematic, it looks as though you drive out the trigger pivot pin and separate the (grip and) trigger guard from the frame,
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

the double nine does not have a pin…it has a screw
as seen in my picture screw is removed but the grip trigger guard will not separate from frame
before i apply force to see if it is stuck…i wanted to confirm it should separate once the screw is removed

My second favorite gun is a High Standard so nice to see someone else who loves them. I know that's no help at all to you but i hope you figure out the problem. I never have had any of mine apart except for the cylinder swap from 22 LR to 22 Magnum!

Stan, research Manurhin MR73. Perhaps the world's finest revolver. They can shoot hundreds of thousands of rounds of 357 with no diminish entry of accuracy. Beretta owns them now but the old Mulhouse made guns are the ones to seek out. They are what Dan Wesson would have been if price was no object. At one point they also made interchangable barrels AND calibers. Their 9mm cylinders need no moon clips. They don't make 9mm cylinders now though.ÂÂ
