Hello Everybody!
Was just reading the Average Joe's Overhaul thread and had a couple questions that aren't really addressed in the thread.
First off, my gun is a 715-FB, Palmer Mass made, and stainless. Will the same steps apply to my gun? I see the "test" gun was a blued version. I do see that another member did the overhaul to the same gun I have without issues, but I was wondering if there was anything to look out for.
Next is the springs. I see mention of "reduced power" springs. My questions is, will this make the gun less reliable as far as light primer strikes etc.? I would rather not dance on that fine line if possible. If the reduced power ones are fine, then I'll go with those, but I don;t want to run into issues down the road because of it.
Lastly, I was thinking about possibly bead-blasting the cylinder on the gun. Just enough to give it a satin finish and leave the rest as polished. I think that would look pretty cool, but I don't know if that will hurt the gun at all. I would think it would be okay, provided I clean it really well to get rid of any media left behind.

The guts should be the same in yours and the 15 in the OP.
Any replacement spring kits you get will have a 9 lb main spring but the originals
were 10 lbs, lots of Dan springs have been changed to the modern kits with no
reliability issues reported.
Can't see where the bead blast would hurt if it was mild and if you don't like
it you could restore the factory finish.
