OfflineHi All,
A few years back, I picked up this .22 with a matt finish. I'd never seen a factory DW with a finish like this.
If it's a refinish, they did a heck of a job - There are no detectable flaws in the finish, and there are no signs of 'buffing out' on the rollmarks. The revolver is mechanically perfect.
Could this be a factory finish? Could it just be a really good Cerakotet? Anyone ever seen one like this?
Any enlightenment would be appreciated!
Regards,
Jim

It is highly unlikely it is factory matte finish. The only matte finish small frame guns are the fixed sight models 11, 14 and 14-2. Some 14-2s in the 350,000 serial number range were polished, not matte. No 22s I know of were matte or fixed sight. Is your gun a 22 Magnum? That is what M22 would mean . It looks like black ceracoted to me . But I use my phone , not a computer.
