I was doing some searching for info on DW 445 Supermags and came up with this...can anybody fill in the story on it?
Were they offered for all 50 states? Is it one man's custom? Anything would be appreciated.

Definitely not one man's custom. These were made by American Historical Foundation LINK, as a potential 50 state deal. However I don't think they completed all 50 states. I think it was less than ten...maybe five. Before my photo host site was hacked a few years ago, I had pics of 4 different ones, if I recall. Georgia used to show up on GB most often. Maybe a note to AHF could net more substantive info?
In fact, my 44, the "Bear" came from a failed AHF run of big game series of DW's.
I think this gun sat in a corner of their operation for maybe 15-20 years until someone found it & decided to cut it loose. It got the serial number, but was never engraved & completed. I have only seen completed Ram's & I think Moose on auction sites in the past.

That's a nice one especially without the gold and engraving. The bluing on them is excellent. I had the Sheep set several years back and I believe I have seen the deer set also.

I have an "Elk Hunter" in 44 mag. Have no idea about production numbers, but as stated above, superb blueing and the grips are sharp. Sorry about my limited knowledge of production of the commemorative's. Really like that bear 002 Charger....sharp and a very desirable serial number!!
