OfflineHey...you all...JB from Tennessee and a new member to this forum. Just a note to say hello and tell you I'm a long time shooter of the 44 Magnum and 357 magnums (albeit S&W).
I'm contemplating the purchase of a pair of Dan Wesson revolvers...a 357 magnum with 4 barrels and a 44 Magnum with 3 barrels. The 357 shows signs of having been fired many times, with wear from the cylinder lock on the cylinder and a tiny loss of bluing on the forward end of the 8" barrel (about 3/8s inch) as if it had been carried in a holster. There were the tiniest of scratches on the frame just aft of the cylinder but the blue is great on the rest of the gun. The extra barrels are spotless. The 44 magnum is almost pristine with very light indications that the cylinder has been turned some. The 44 has 3 barrels, what looked to me like an 8 inch, 6 inch and like 3". The bluing is perfect on the 44 and the barrels.
My friend couldn't lay his hands on the barrel tool and gages, but he does have a DW patch, DW belt buckle and a carrying case that is probably not the original but looks like some of those that I've seen. He keeps both pistols in the same case (rather crowded). He also has several sets of wooden grips for it like maybe Hogue.
He says the 44 mag has only been fired a few times by him...it looks like this could be true. He's asking $2000 for the set. I actually wanted only the 44, but he wants to sell them as a set. We had previously made a tentative deal for $1000 for the 44 alone. I'm now set on buying both.
I thought the price was reasonable, but wonder if you all have any thoughts. Please chime in.

Are you saying that you are getting a .357 with 4 barrel assemblies and a .44 with 3 barrel assemblies for a total of $2000?BUY NOW!
Yes, that's what I'm saying and the deal has been made. Just wondering if it's good or bad? I'm very impressed with the trigger pull...smooth and light. I don't snap on an empty chamber, so it's not totally tested. The appearance is beautiful. The guns don't have the compensator or vented rib on any of the barrels. The 44 is nearly "as new". What is the value if you think this is a good deal?
