New to the forum. Currently own only one DW a Silverback in 9mm, great gun and a shooter. Have many other pistols, semi-auto's and long guns. RSO at my local club with 22 years as a LEO retiring from the State Police in CT.

Researching a DW revolver for a friend, 8" BBL, shroud stamped .45 Colt ctg. S/N 45B001154 which I believe was produced somewhere around 1987 or 88 but any help would be appreciated.

Happy New Year

Not sure exactly what info you are looking for...but in the effort to get a warning versus a ticket the next time I speed through Connecticut I will give it a shot...

A Dan Wesson in .45 Colt is a very desirable revolver. A blue one would be a model 45 and a stainless would be a model 745.

Value will vary based on condition, model, barrel length, original box, accessories, etc. etc.

In good shape...and easy $1000+ depending on aforementioned factors...a stainless four barrel set sold within the past year for $3500.

Welcome to the forum from an Iowan who has only driven through Connecticut once and doesn't plan on it again.

Welcome from PA. As stated, a Dan in 45 Colt is a valuable and highly sought after gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the Forum!

Model 45 & 745 do not show up often. They usually do command a high price when they do.

Welcome from Florida. Snake eye and I are two of the lucky ones. He has a pistol pack he stole locally and mine showed up at 2:00am on Gunbroker several year ago with a BIN of 965. In the 5 +years I have been watching only 3 or 4 have shown up, maybe. Moderator Ron probably has a record of when and how much. Lol. I think $2000 is not unreasonably for a blue gun in fine shape. Maybe more. I think you are correct about the age. They were a late Monson offering I believe.

GB 4 AUG 12 for $1,402 w/ 4" and 6" barrels.

GB price $1625, 6 MAY 13
