My name's Matthew and I like treasure hunting. Went to visit my sister a few hours away, figured the local pawn and gun shops were worth a gander. Wasn't looking for anything in particular, but then I saw it. A Dan Wesson 715v6 a place called tool town had just taken in on trade. $475 + tax and a background check later I strolled out with a grin and a "new" monson magnum. I'd post a pic, but I'm on my phone and haven't a clue how.

I wasn't well versed on current dw prices so I wasn't sure if it was a good buy, but I believe the time to buy something is when you see it. Also I'd just spent $1200+ on a kimber so I didn't feel bad about $500. What I do feel bad about is knowing that someone was foolish enough to trade it in on a polymer pistol... Probably a glock

I'm thinking of getting a 15" barrel for hunting, but I'm scared that'll cost me more than the initial purchase.

Oh; it will! For a .357, 8" is about all you need to be consistent to 100m, particularly if you use mounted optics of some sort.

I'm going to a gun show Sunday to hunt down a holster and hopefully a barrel. What's an average price for an 8 or 10"?

Welcome. Â This is a great bunch of shooters to join. Â The info must flow.

8" stainless can be had for $300 to $350 on GB. Â DW made lots of them and still do. Â There are other manufacturers as well.
10" and larger is totally different. Â I have seen around a $1,000 and up to $1500 last month.
Just shoot the one ya got and keep grinning about that $475. Â Hard to beat that price.

Nice find  from Ohio. My 14-2 6" just blew out 1" center of target at 50' w 5 hits 1 about 1/4' out
check out range I'll be posting soon. I want a 15" also,but $ say not yet !!!!
