Hello DW Forum Members,
I just purchased my first Dan Wesson, an ECO 9mm, and I love it!!!
I am an average shooter, who has really only been shooting on a regular basis for the last 18 months. I had been looking for a 9mm in a 1911 for awhile. I was in my favorite local sporting goods store and this semi-auto caught my eye. Very classy black and white. I look at the description and see its a 1911. And its a 9mm. And its flashy looking. (OK, I'm a female and very much into bling, flash and pretty). Then I handled it-fit beautifully in my hand, not too heavy, not too light, very balanced.
Then I see the price tag....but its a Dan Wesson and I just got my tax refund. To hell with being financially responsible this time. So, after the obligatory 3-day waiting period required here in Illinois, I brought my new baby home. (As a side bar, it makes so much sense that I have a concealed carry permit in this state, and lawfully had a loaded gun on my person when I purchased my DW, but still had to wait 3-days for the "cooling" off period. Gotta love Illinois.)
I got out to shoot it for the first time today, and I am hooked. This gun is really a confidence builder for an average shooter like me. I would like improve enough to get into competitive shooting and was the main reason I chose to dole out the cash for a DW. I have been bitten by the DW bug.
Already looking squirreling money away for a Guardian .45. Then I think I'll have to try a revolver....does it ever end?

Welcome to the DWF. The auto loads are real beauties from Dan Wesson and they do handle great as well.We are glad you found us and joined the group as well as some conversation. This is a great group for the Dan Wesson owner. I will say if you have any revolver usage under your belt, wait til you get any DW revolver in your hands. 
 You will fall in love with the wheel gun..... Welcome again and be sure to give us a range report....oh and one more thing
  LOL.. your gonna find we love pics of Dan Wessons almost as much as we love Dan Wessons

Welcome to the forum from PA. Â You picked a great gun for your first Dan Wesson. Â The ECO is a great shooter and easy to carry. Â It's a bit different than other larger 1911's in the take down process, actually easier IMO. Â Lube it well before shooting and use the supplied oil and run it wet for the first 500 rounds or so and you will get many years of trouble free service out of your new rig. Â
BTW, you may be afflicted with DWAS, Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome, which means you will be adding more Dan's to your collection in the future. Â A 45 is a good choice as is any DW revolver. Â Post some pics and a range report when you get a chance.
