Any opinions on this ammo in a 10” Dan Wesson .44? I am looking into hunting large feral hogs in a wooded area.

Yep, 340 gr. at 1,425 fps with 1,533 ft. lbs. ought to do the job and the Dan can easily handle that pressure.

I just have to convice myself that I can handle the pressure.

Bullet weight has much to do with recoil also. If you find it is a little more than you can handle, you do have the option to drop to a 300 grain bullet. There are other choices out there. I think what you will find is the 344 gr will be more of a push back at your hand rather than a jump out of your hand. I think you will be fine.

It would also help absorb felt recoil if the 10" BA is a Heavy or Vented Heavy.

If by "pressure" you are referring to the ability of your DW .44 Magnum to safely operate and function with Buffalo Bore ammunition, it will as long as it is in good condition and properly maintained.

If you question whether you can handle it, work up to the Buffalo Bore with standard ammunition and move up through several loading's of heavier bullets different brands...

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The smooth large frame target grip was designed to slide in the hand a bit to help mitigate recoil. A Hogue or Pachmyer grip will not do that. ;

Great comments from everyone. Here is a picture of the beast to answer a lot of questions:

Yes it has a 10" VH barrel. It already has a smooth grip that fits my hand well. I have tried Winchester 240 grain SJSP cartridges and could shoot all day so far as recoil goes but I'm not sure my back would hold out. When I switch back to my 15-2 with the 8" VH barrel it feels light and toy like. I'm not sure of the weight of this combination, but it is substantial.
