This is my recently acquired pre-CZ "PointMan Aussie-Blued" 45ACP.

The case is original to the gun, but I added the innards.

I know it's your first 1911 DW, is it your first 1911 as well?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yep, this is my first ever 1911. I guess I am a slow learner with some things.Laugh When I took it apart for it's first post-range day scrubbing, I noticed how similar the mechanics & layout of this gun is to the AMT Automag I used to own. I guess the Automag borrowed a lot of the 1911 design & I never knew it.

Because of that familiar similarity, I was able to get this gun apart in about 90 seconds.lol2

It's really amazing when you get your first 1911, how great it fits the hand, points and shoots naturally? For me, it is the most natural and comfortable handgun to shoot, by far.

Steve, that's a great point & one with which I must agree...this has to be the best natural pointing gun I've ever had in my hand. It almost feels as though it was personally made for my hand.Smile The very first magazine load I shot, I hit every single thing (gallon water jug, in this case) I aimed at...that has yet to be equalled with any other handgun I've ever pulled a trigger on. Combined with getting acquainted with the recoil during that first load, that speaks volumes about the overall ergomics of the design.

Needless to say, I'm impressed!Laugh  I would certainly recommend one of these guns to anyone currently on the "decision fence", for a nice overall shooter.Wink
