Just got this gun new in the past week, took it to the range yesterday, most fantastic gun I have ever bought, smooth, tight and accurate.

That's pretty much the same impression I have with my DW 1911, these guns are great shooters!smile

Any cool-pics of your newest arrival?

Glad you like your PM-9.  I have had one since last Spring.  Fantastic gun that has had no issues except for a bad Metalform mag I bought for it.  Funny thing was the other one was just fine.  Enjoy!

I just spent some time at the range yesterday with my PM-40.  It is very accurate as well.  I really need a 9MM to compliment it.  You have any pics of the PM-9?

I'm not sure whether this will cause a thread hijack but would this be a good choice to carry concealed?  I just took a class and the plastic toys we used didn't really do it for me.  I'm a revolver guy at this point (dw of course). who liked my buddy's 1911 (colt govt) when I shot it. And I'm not about to go busting into crack houses so 17 rounds seemed a bit like overkill.  And I tend to think my .44 would be a little conspicuous even with a 4 inch barrel.

Take a look at the Dan Wesson ECO 3.5"bbl in 9mm and 45acp, or the CCO 4"bbl 45 acp.  Much smaller and lighter footprint than the full size govt. models.  To each their own but I find it hard to conceal a full size 1911.  I do carry my ECO quite often as it is much easier to conceal.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

I have (rarely) carried a full size 1911, I have a (non DW) Lightweight Commander that I will much more readily carry. I have shot the CCO and liked it a lot

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Just on my way out the door to my local FFL to pick up my brand-new PM-9!! It'll be a great companion to my CZ-75 Shadow Target! This forum helped me in my decision to purchase this latest addition... just posted in "New Members"... good forum here!

Welcome Wes you will love that gun,for the others my carry gun is a kimber ultra cdp II no more recoil than any other 45acp and I like a 45 for the knock down it has.  Carrying a full size 1911 would be uncomfortable, but in the vehicle i do not see a problem.

I don't even have any semi-autos (except a few .22s) and I want one now; that looks good and I generally don;t like stainless guns.
