I sold 2 guns (S&W and Keltec 9mm's) and bought this at the local gun shop. It was priced well below the manufacturers SRP so I couldn't let it go. The pic is off the Kimber web site and it's a .45 acp but I got the 9mm version. Range time this afternoon.

Very nice, I love the Kimber auto's, even though we don't have any. My wife and I have shot a couple of them, she really likes the Kimber Target version.

I feel like I have betrayed Embarassed the DWF buy not buying a Dan 1911, but the Kimber is purdy. Wink  I may have to sell off some other “stuff”, not a DW however,Range Time for a real McCoy.

I've admired a few of those Kimber's too, they really seem like a fine fitting piece of machinery. One of these days I'll own one, along with a DW (or more) & I'd like to get a Fusion 1911 (not sure which model) too. Bob Serva's current company.

But first, there's more wheel guns that are calling my name.Laugh

I have a Kimber Custom CDP II in 45 auto and it is a great piece,   Jaggman you'll be forgiven by another Kimber owner Laugh.  Look forward to the report!  Is it fixed sights or adjustable?

I shot about 30 rounds today and they all hit left of POA at about 30'.  It may be me, I don't know, or the 3" barrel syndrome. The other thing is that when I got home I tried to field strip the gun but the slide stop will not push out. I followed the directions but no go. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see what he suggests. Anybody have any ideas? Screwy

Here's a couple of pics at the range:

I also have a Kimber, a Custom Shop Stainless Raptor II.  My wife and I both love this gun.  Just for comparison, we took the S&W 645 with us to the range last week.  There's a reason that it took me 20+ years to buy another auto-loader.  What a piece of junk.  I especially like the variable trigger pull.  It will be going on GB as soon as I return home for any length of time.

I found my Kimber to be very difficult to take down the first couple of times also.  In my case the problem was getting the little semi-circular cut out in the slide aligned correctly with the tip of the lever.  Once I figured it out, everything went smoothly.

GoodLuck and good shooting shooting .

I got it figured out. I was pushing the slide too far forward. The tab on the slide stop is on the hammer end, not the muzzle end. Cleaned and all back together again.

We will forgive you this time since it is your first 1911. poke as long as you grow up and get a DW eventually. lol2

P.S. Don't tell anyone but Kimbers are pretty cool.
