I'll figure it out eventually, anyway,   I got lucky yesterday and this set fell into my lap for 8.

It has the brochures, the dealer price list for 77 and 78, the tools, both original stocks with the finish worn off the Target and the Combat is actually broken, but they're available luckily plus the new Pachmeyer it's wearing, the keys for the case, warranty card, instruction manual, the original patch and another DW patch, 4 extra sight blades, belt buckle,  oh yeah, and a extra 12 vh barrel  to top it off!

I've had a run lately of good luck in finding jewels cheap and I think this one fits the description. I just bought a gorgeous sports car I've wanted forever, and now a beautiful Pac I've wanted forever, and both for a song imo.

The pistol has been shot a lot but maintained beautifully, the metal is pristine on all but the 4" and that is just a minor touch of holster wear, on the cylinder too.  The 12" had never been screwed into the frame, I peeled the plastic off the threads. Bore on all 4 other barrels is perfect, zero corrosion anywhere.  All marked Monson Mass.

So what do y'all think? Did I do good?  wink  What do y'all think it is worth?

Very nice you did well! You could probably sell the 12" for near what you paid for the whole thing. Although I would keep it. And you can see what nice pacs are bringing on GB these days.

Wow that's a steal, the 12 inch can bring a grand on eBay all day long, so you pretty much got the pack for FREE!!!

Go buy a lottery ticket with your luck.

and I paid the guy full whack asking price, no quibbling over 50 bucks this time.  I'm cheap not dumb.

It is a beauty, I keep looking at it with the 12 mounted and want to giggle.  I can't believe how complete it is.  From online descriptions, I think I have everything plus.

Not letting the 12 go, looking for a 10, why not.  There's a very nice silhouette range here and I think that's just the ticket to reach out and smack that ram.  My Son or Grandson can realize the windfall profit, I'm shooting it.

Yup! GTDW! And yes, the unused 12" would go for OVER a grand. I have some long barrels and would advise to be veeerrry carefully when using it. You will find it difficult to shoot unsupported and they will get scratched up if you use anything besides your body to support them. They were usually used in the Creedmoor position where you laid on the ground on your back with your feet facing the target and the barrel resting on you calf for support and your other hand propping your head up. Shoot it, have fun then put it away for that generational profit.  JMHO. Welcome to the forum. BTW, have you heard of Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome?  The uncurable urge to acquire anything connected to Dan Wessons?

I have a soft leather welding type glove I use for offhand shooting super long barrel pistols.  Works well and keeps the cyl gap blast from tattooing my wrist too.

I knew it was too good a deal to wait on or pass but I didn't really realize how good a deal till I had it in hand and started doing some real research.  I had an hour from finding out this set existed till leaving to grab it.

Unfortunately (maybe fortunately) I lean towards (insert brand here) acquisition syndrome, mainly Marlin Lever Rifles, but I have been looking at a Pac since I was a kid.  Just never have seen one in really complete condition at a price I could afford to pay.  And I really didn't want to try to piece a set together.

Once in a while waiting pays.

Being a n00b, I'm guessing that GTDW is Get That Dan Wesson?  Like ASAP?

Do you have a Marlin lever in .357 (1894c)?  I have a 336ss in 30/30, wish I had had the foresight to get the 1894c, kind of cool to carry handgun and lever gun for the same round.

Not yet, my only 357 lever is a R92 Rossi, kinda beat up but it was cheap and slick as heck.  Feeds anything including wadcutters while the Marlin without lifter modification won't, and shoots really nice.  One of my next projects is refinish the Rossi.  Actively looking for a Marlin though.

found what seems to be a very nice combat grip on feebay last night so the only real issue with my pac is fixed.  looking around, 60 bucks didn't seem too out of line and I'm in the whole pac so good, even if I overpaid by 20 I'm still in super cheap.

I was wondering, my target grip is zebra striped but I haven't seen pics of striped combats.  Do they exist? It would be neat to have both grips match better. I am going to strip and refinish the grips as the clear is just worn off.  My new one is much closer in color to the Target than the one in the pac and they will look good cleaned up and oiled well..

How well do the CZ barrels match?  They say they have 10"s but I wonder if I'd be better looking for a matching Monson.  For both looks and resale value. what have 10s been going for lately?  I assume since they can still be bought new, they would be much less than the 12 or 15.

Well, for starters, the Monson 10" is only a little less than the 12" . 800- 1000 in LNIB condition. Everyone with a Monson wants a Monson. I was wondering who paid so much for that pretty , light colored combat grip. Hey, if your happy that is all that matters. I have overpaid for bunches of grips because they were unusual. I think Zebra combats may exist but the are as rare as unicorns. LB Grips can make you one or you can carve your own out of a target grip. Might be a good idea if your zebra is in rough shape. I also a 12"BA with my first Dan. A heavy non vent . It came with a 6 "VH And an 8"H. I paid a $1000 and my wife thought I got skinned. She researched and I was suddenly a genius. The glove is a good idea. I neglected to mention that when shooting in the Creedmoor position a stout piece of leather is drapped over the leg..

I have never seen the DW combats in zebra...won't say they don't exist...

Dan Wesson Norwich  BA's look really good I think, but they do not have the Monson roll mark. Laser etched with caliber only.

I have seen a couple of 10's  super nice in the 8-9 hundred ranges. normally expect them to be 650-750.  really depends on how many are looking at the time....  goodluck
