I checked the registry, and it appears that there are no Model 14's listed with serial numbers containing a "B".  I realize that there are a lot of gaps in the records, but am I correct in my pistol being a Model 14?

Fixed sights, .357, serial number 357B00154x

It's a great gun and I'm trying to find a match for it.

Thank you,

Sorry, I forgot to add that I am unsure of the date of manufacture, as I inherited it from a family member.  Any help on that would be appreciated so that I can track down its mate.   :)

Yours is a Model 14-2, the "357B" prefix makes it a little harder to date as this falls into the transition of Dan Wesson Arms from Monson to Palmer. Best guess is 1991, but it's a guess, S/N data for this period is pretty thin.

You might find THIS interesting

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I always kinda figured the "B" stood for Blue and the "S" for stainless.
