I'm off work after a recent hernia surgery and this is keeping me sane while home alone.

Thought you guys might enjoy a little wheelgun loudenboomer album. I didn't want to work up a bunch of heavy loads but my gun got more accurate as I increased the charge. No signs of excessive pressure with these loads but, as we all know, Dan Wesson revolvers are amongst the strongest made.

Getting ready to seat bullets. 240 grain Sierra JHC, CCI 300 primers, Fed Brass. Load steps 18.5, 19, 19.5 gr

Marked 1,2,3 for Incremental loads. My 1983 Dan Wesson 744V with new EWK arms un-ported barrel tube, .350" partridge front sight blade, and Hogue ugly rubber grip.

My Short Range, 25 to 35 Yards. I can reload and shoot from my garage. I live on 24 acres. Also have a 100yd range I can shoot from the garage thru the trees. Just have to turn my reloading bench ~20 degrees to the left.

Results: 25 Yard Groups. I didn't want to load a bunch of wrist breaker loads but my gun got a little more accurate as the loads increased. The last group is ~ 1 1/16", not 1" as marked but has 4 shots in 3/4"--that's 2 in one hole on the bottom left. To the left is the next 3 sets of loads--19.7, 20, 20.5 grains to be continued.

Thanks for the report, very nice shooting! I am just getting into reloading for my .44 magnum but did not try them out yet. Using 2400 and 240gr XTP. Did a box at 17.4 gr and a box I think around 20.5 and I figured I would work my way in between to find a favorite. Will be interested to see how your higher loads perform for you. Also just got an 8" EWK barrel that I havent mounted or shot yet.

A range that you can shoot right out of the garage?? Ok I am jealous that is very cool worship

Thanks lonwolf. I plan on firing a few groups today then loading up a box of the best grouped ammo. I hope to find several loads that are sighted to POA from plinkers to boomers working with different bullet weights and charges of 2400 and Unique.

I loaded a few GCSWC 250 gr cast bullets over 5.5-7.5 gr of Unique but the new barrel didn't like them. I hope to smooth it out with jacketed bullets then give it another try.

Good way to spend the recovery time!

Indeed. I'm finally getting back into shooting this thing and reloading. I havent shot it much for at least 15 years and haven't reloaded since 1986. Having fun doing it.

And never have to leave the house!  Just a little different now with components for reloading being kinda crazy!   Keep on shooting!

Cool range report, of course anytime spent with a Dan at the range is great.  Good to hear 2400 is working well.  I have used it some in .44 loads as well.

Move your recliner to the garage and get some quality range time!! Call it the Modified Creedmoor position.

I'm also a beer brewer. There are 6 full kegs of beer in a fridge in the garage at all times for when I'm not shooting or reloading. I put a recliner out there and the wife may never see me again. :)

Loading up the truck now; which way do I point it???  I'm guessing Ft. Smith?

Easy one day drive for me.  Fayetteville is my half way point to Lincoln, Nebraska...
