coated 14-2Image Enlarger

Took the DW in to see what they could do. I also had them coat a few extra Shrouds!  Will get some daylight pics soon of this one!  I bought this one out of Kentucky a few years ago, it had laid in holster in a tobacco shed. Wasn't pretty!!

Just curious- was  there a reason you went with cerakote and not duracoat, diamondkote, bearcoat, or some other finish?

The coating was a gift, this is a local out fit and I thought why not bring this one back to life!  The guy that did it told me he had never seen such a well made wheel gun.  Has coated several smiths plus ar's and 1911's though first of this kind ever.

would love for my 5 digit 14-2 to look like the one at the top of the page..(one with 3 barrels)

like the two tone ...my blue is all scarred up and came with a fake wood grip.. (that's scarred too)

any info would be valued immensely... thanks

Grips are the easy part, ebay, Gunbroker etc have them all the time.  LB Custom grips on the sidebar makes the best grips for any Dan.  As for barrels, they will be harder to find for a 14-2. DW forum member Hotbluer actually did bluing for Dan Wesson back in the day and does fine work.  If you are so inclined to reblue, he would be the man.  I have a High Standard Sentinel MK III that I'm thinking about having him do for me.

Donovan-

Grips are easy, pick an LB Custom, you will never regret it. This is not just because he is a Moderator and longtime member. Every grip he makes is a labor of love, and he loves Dan Wesson revolvers.

Your 14-2 was probably a Satin Blue to start, not the high gloss 15-2 finish. Mark (hotbluer) can polish it up and reblue  the 15-2 look very easily.

Here's a favorite picture of mine:

P9100039-2-1-1.jpgImage Enlarger

Front is a clean 715 stainless

Back is a refinished 15-2 in Bright Nickel

Middle is a factory original 15-2, there's a lot of pop in that 30 year old finish. DW factory bluing is remarkable, and you can still get it.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Have you ever noticed that 3+5+7 is GREATER than 9+1+1 ?                 .
