So Friday will be our anniversary. I bought her a lot of jewelery, and she's been bugging me for weeks to get something for myself.

Then on Saturday, she said, "how about a new gun?"

I replied, "Other than a DW 360, DW 460, or a DW 7414 shooter, I can't think of anything I want.

She said, "Now that it's legal here, how about something for concealed carry?"

So off we went to the gun store.  The guy behind the counter asked what I am currently shooting and I told him DW.  Well, the name seems to be magic there. Not only did he respond with accolades, but 3 other sales people (yes, one was a woman) all made comments about how fantastic DW's are.  Oddly, none of them had ever heard of a DW revolver. When they what was so special about them, I told them I was not going to answer because that would just drive the prices up higher.

Well I did finally choose; it's a Kimber.

Here's a link: http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/cdp-ii/ultra-cdp-ii-lg

I pick it up tomorrow.  I can hit stuff with my Dan's; we'll see about the Kimber.big-grin

Mike,

You should like it.  My first .45 was a Kimber Custom CDPII.  Nice carry type 1911, still have it too.  Great score.

Yeah, concealed carry is finally legal here, though everybody and his kid brother is trying to slap restrictions on it.

We already have 2 custom shop Kimber's which we bought before we really knew about the DW 1911's.  We now own 2 DW 1911's, same calibers as the Kimber's one .45 and one 9mm.

The Dan's outperform the Kimber's by a mile.  However, DW doesn't make a 3-inch 1911, so Kimber was it.  Anyway, the anniversary is Friday, not next January, which is about when I'd get any Dan that I ordered this week.

I'm just going to have to learn how to be abetter shot.

Happy Anniversary - I carry a Kimber Compact Stainless when I want to 'dress up"...  you'll like it.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Well, I picked it up last night and shot it.

I was quite surprised. I thought that having an aluminum frame and such a short barrel that the recoil would be prodigious. The recoil is not bad at all. My wife even thinks it's comfortable to shoot.

It's amazing how much a laser sight can improve your accuracy.

Take-down is a real PITA.  I suppose it will be OK once I get used to it.

All-in-all, I'm very pleased.

Actually 3.5.  However, if I had realized that and it wasn't back ordered for 8 or 9 months at Cabella's, I certainly would have gone that route.  I may yet do it in 9 for my wife.
