Hey guys, I've been a Dan Wesson forum lurker for about a year now so I figure it's time to join. I have been trying to find a 15-2 locally but having terrible luck. I am here to hopefully find a 15-2 and customize to my heart's content You guys have such a wonderful community with everything I need to know. After my friend from Missouri took me to the rang with his 15-2, I fell in love and had to have one for myself. I'm also hoping EWK Arms makes more of those beast EH barrels!

Welcome to DWF!

You may note from my avatar that I have a Michigan connection, grew up in Farmington and MSU grad.

Maybe give Gun Broker a try, there are always 15-2's and 715's available, prices will normally end up $500 and up.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I have been considering Gunbroker but all their negative feedback scares me a bit, also they seem to flag people's accounts at random so I might have to submit a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill... might as well give them my fiancee's info too right? I need to research GB a little bit more to be sure but I'll still be looking here too, I feel as though I can trust you guys better anyway. Also GO LIONS and TIGERS!

I remember seeing another member's 14-2 fitted with an EWK eh barrel an under-rail, looked like something I'll build for range use for sure!

I have bought exactly one gun online, and it was through Gun Broker. I think if you look at the sellers rating AND number of sales, you get a pretty good idea of reliability.

I just did a quick GB search and found well over a dozen 15-2's on auction. One seller (HAM77) is A+ rated on  330 sales and has 3 15-2's halfway through 3 day auctions, all three are available Buy Now ranging from $449-$555.

2 8", one 6", all look pretty good.

They are out there and these three are all good prices, if I was in the market, THIS ONE would be mine, 1975 6V gun, with a Pachmayr Gripper

1 day, 21 hours to go!

Gotta help out a Tigers Fan!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the forum. Sparty SteveCT is my misguided big brother.  big-grin

I purchased pistols, rifles, shotguns, gun parts, powder and primers from Gun Broker with no problems. Like anything else, research the seller before jumping in. I think GB is one of the safest gun buying sites out ther.

That looks like a pretty solid link Steve posted for you to take a look at. The Pachy Grippers are worth a premium.

I am afraid to tell you how many guns I have bought on Gunbroker. I may be committed for being crazy. Actually, in my opinion it is the best place to buy. Ok, over 70 I think and not one serious problem. Some are not quite as good  as you thought but most were better. The pictures didn't  do them justice. Sellers are very solicitous of their rating and will usually treat you well. When you win one you know you did not overpay because no one forced you and sometimes get a real bargain. Things to look for are BIN ' S with great prices , guns with box, tool and extras, and a gun misidentified. I ca m not tell you my other secrets on the forum. They wouldn't be secrets anymore. Good luck.

Ok I'm all registered for GB, sent the seller a message, if he replies, I won't see it until I get home from work and hopefully it's still there for me to use buy it now. Thank you for the reassurance guys!

Way to go, nice score! You will now find yourself infected with dwas. Looking forward to pics and a range report.

Welcome to DWF, I have made a few local DAN purchases, but they are very few and far between.  Most likely you will find what you are looking for on Gun Broker.  I have used GB for several purchases and ebay for barrels, parts and such.  Have had good luck

Alright! got my Dan! I was slightly awe-stricken by her beauty, very few minor scratches, deep, dark bluing with the pachmayr grips, very tight cylinder lock-up. whoever owned it did not use it much, I can understand why - the barrel gap is nearly touching the cylinder, no gap to speak of! The single action was clunky as a bag of hammers, I took knowledge from this forum and loosened up on the grip screw, that solved that problem immediately.

I have yet to give her a an "average joe" tune-up but I did take some time to swap out the rear sight with a ruger gp100 white outline sight, took a few tries to gt it to sit right with it's springs and all. I need to dig up my camera and get some pics, my lady moves things around without telling me...

Anyway guys all in all, it was worth every penny...now to find a 4" barrel...maybe even an EH one! Any offers!?

Glad you got. Let us see some pics.

BTW, as long as the cylinder gap is .002 or greater on the proudest cylinder position, it's gapped correctly and you shouldn't have any issues.

Enjoy!
