Traded a HK45C for a Dan Wesson Classic CBOB 1911 today! Really psyched about the new member of the stable. This is destined to be my EDC. I can always purchase another HK but couldn't pass up this opportunity.

Welcome to the forum Richard. Any questions, fire away. There are a bunch of knowledgeable folks here.

BTW, as Cecil so subtly hinted big-grin, we love pics here. In fact we encourage being a show off where Dans are concerned.

Richard, welcome to DWF.

I "screwed the pooch" on NOT picking up a CBOB several years ago at a pretty good price. I am both senile and stupid.

Again, Welcome to DWF.

Steve

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hi Richard. Welcome to the DWF.  Watch out for DWAS; no cure but the "medications" are expensive. big-grin

If Steve is senile and stupid for picking up a CBOB at a pretty good price, then I must be terminally stupid for buying one brand new 2 months ago and paying retail for it.  I love mine and I'm sure you will love yours too. and we still need pics.

I just edited my post, I DID NOT BUY THE CBOB for $750.

I looked> didn't buy>looked> tried to convince myself>looked>worked on what I could trade in>looked>decided to go for a layaway so I could figure out a way to buy it>it was gone!

In my own defense, I've never pretended to be smart!

This is going to be a fun group! The guy I got it from also included 4 Wilson Combat 8-rd mags and 2 other mags. We swapped a few holsters as well. The 1911 has a few scratches that I will work on down the road. The guts are in perfect shape. He said he ran 350 rounds and I believe him. Very thankful that we crossed paths.

Wow Richard you are sitting pretty with the extras! Now that you are hooked on Dans, we just need to get you into a revolver or 6! wink Then we will truly have you infected with dwas

I came really close about a month ago on picking up an Ed Brown Molon Labe but can't say enough about the DW. I CCW and have purchased (and sold) many firearms but really feel that I hit pay-dirt here.
