As an introduction, I'm an older shooter that has been "collecting" (buying & selling) various firearms for many years. Long time NRA member. I just purchased my first Dan Wesson handgun & am trying to learn something about it. It is a large frame blued revolver in .44 Magnum with 4 barrels of various lengths. From what I have read within this forum, it is a Model 44 manufactured about 1981-82. It is in excellent shape & appears to have been shot very little. I can't imagine shooting this thing with either of the 2 shorter barrels, anyway.

dwf-welcome to the dwf.

Shooting the 44 with a short barrel should be no issue because the Dan's are so heavy.  My wife occasionally shoots my 744 with no issues.

This is the place to be to learn about Dan's.

I hope you enjoy our little corner of the net.

Welcome!  The 44 mag w/ a 4"BA is one of my favorite combinations.  Check out March of the 2017 DWF calendar....

Welcome to the Forum! You will love the 44. My favorite is the 6inch VH barrel. It's very tame and easy to shoot. My wife loves that combination.
