Hi

I am looking for a wooden grip for a Dan Wesson 357 revolver that was purchased in the 1970s.  The grip was wooden, had a spot for a thumb, and the bottom is not tapered but bulbous and had finger grips too.  It was made for a short period of time.  I can't find one anywhere - not even a picture!  Trying to find this for a Christmas gift!'

Thanks for any help!

Might be friendly to drop by the New Members board and post an introduction ... anyhow, here is something to look at;

I've noticed that people use all kind of names for the various styles of grips and even those that come in factory NOS boxes may not be the grip on the label. I found this magazine article that clears that up.

a. Target Exotic Wood Checkered
b. Target Walnut Checkered
c. Combat Walnut
d. Undercover Walnut Checkered
e. Traditional Walnut Checkered
f. Service Walnut Checkered

make your own!  take a battered DW grip that you can find on sites like ebay like I did and still do...slowly sand it and mold it to your own hand!  worth the results!!  DW mod 15 .357 DSCF2593-Large-1.JPGImage Enlarger

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
